Due to all of this confusion regarding food sensitivities, I offer a solution called the Mediator Release Test (MRT). MRT is a simple blood test that measures your immune-based sensitivity response to 120 foods and 30 chemicals (naturally occurring and additives). Even seemingly healthy foods like fruits and vegetables may show up as sensitivities. The higher the bar, the more reactive the food or chemical is when exposed to your immune system. It is important to eliminate reactive foods and chemicals for a period of time until the body eventually regains oral tolerance. Most problematic foods are avoided for at least 3 to 6 months.
